Get straight boy, get straight, cut hair son and shave, buy clothes and shine shoes, you’re out in the real world Your suit suits your eyes, your tie suits your teeth, your glasses orange, green and black, but that’s how they should be But what would Andy say, if he had a normal day, if he hadn’t been awake all night, working on his latest novel Go early to bed, do push ups instead of staying out in bars with friends, they’re a lost bunch of planners Say yes, wear a grin if you can’t make it smile, a careful lick and then you’re off to the stars in the real world But what would Norma say, if she had a normal day, if she hadn’t been awake all night, working on her latest movie Don’t listen to the terrorist inside you he’ll come around soon enough He’s been dropping little messages in your head, he’ll push you over if you don’t stand straight It’s only a game that might lead to fame, and mother’s rest in family nest, what more can you ask for So straight boy, get straight, cut hair son and shave, shine shoes and buy clothes, this is your suitcase But What would Andy say, if he had an honest day, if he hadn’t been awake all night, working on his latest haircut Don’t listen to the terrorist inside you, he’ll come around soon enough He’s been dropping little messages in your head, he’ll push you over if you don’t stand straight What would Andy say, If he had a normal day, if he hadn’t been awake all night working on his latest novel Don’t listen to the terrorist inside you he’ll come around soon enough He’s been dropping little messages in your head, he’ll push you over if you don’t stand straight Terror, terror, terror, terror, he’ll come around soon enough Terror, terror, terror, terror, he’ll push you over if you don’t stand straight

Moviestar 04:34
Moviestar When i watch it I think of you I wonder where you are I wonder what you do Are you afraid, are you at work Are you making love Or do you sit and watch the screen Just like me Moviestar, moviestar, moviestar And when you smile You smile at me It must have been fun ‘cause you smile a lot It’s your birthday and you’re in your red dress You look great And you open the gift That I gave to you Moviestar, moviestar, moviestar And maybe it’s sick to sit here and watch On a cold screen How happy we were But that is the price of our VCR Yes, that is the price of our VCR Moviestar, moviestar, moviestar

No one I know can complain like you could And give this life such damn good rag doll beating Rain would always get you wet, sun, far too strong And all those crappy wars were German relics No one is here to complain now that you’re gone No one is here to complain and I miss you so Not even fish cakes tasted quite like they did When seas were clean and blue and not polluted Cars were always dangerous, trains, late but safe Don’t let safety kill your will, it’s boring! No one is here to complain now that you’re gone No one is here to complain and I miss you so

Piledriver 02:54
It’s penetration time again Time to get out of cupboards Time to squeeze and time to be squeezed And if courage let’s me down And I feel like drawing new cards saying please go back to start again She’s a piledriver She’s extreme, but she’s real She’s a missile All the years I spent explaining Building fortresses around me Suddenly wasted when she comes She’s a piledriver She’s extreme, but she’s real She’s a missile

Well, it’s always like that A nice apt with friends and their friendly wives, and wine and beer and all You play the fool you fool the play, at least you think you do, but then the link is lost and you find yourself in a hubble bowl Spoilt conversation, mouth shut, say nothing, spoilt conversation, hear words, speak none I’ll turn your face extremely white, I’ll turn you red and green And then it’s always like that You start off well with words and the moves that match the given situation But you push the world, the world you push is an enormous world and no world to be pushed, you throw the world into garbage cans Spoilt conversation, hear something, say nothing, spoilt conversation, say something, hear nothing I’ll turn your face extremely white, I’ll turn you red and green A few of my favourite thoughts fell to the floor, like flies to the yellow light bulb A few of my brilliant thoughts crash landing again, on a cushion covered floor and we all love you eyes I met the painter on my way, he asked me -why do you still try when you know it’s useless? I said -I don’t try, it’s just a habit that I have, It’s just a shower that I need sometimes Spoilt conversation, a few of my favourite thoughts crash landing again, the fine art of spoiling conversations

Normal Man 05:54
A normal man does what he can here To fill up his tin can With the best from Japan A normal man Safe in his circles, spits on his symbols He knows that he’s right It sounds like future It smells like remedy But the taste is ordinary And we’re the last to know it’s here So all good airheads grab your brains Throw them all into your favorite dream A normal man Sick in his death bed Believes he’ll come over And return to his stride It sounds like dying But it’s not that quiet It smells like remedy But the taste is ordinary So all good airheads Grab your brains Throw them all into your favorite dream A lively man So full of hum-hopes Sooner taken for granted And we knew you would end up A normal man Safe in his circles Spitting on symbols Convinced that you’re right It sounds like future It smells like remedy But the taste is ordinary And we believe that it’s not here So all good airheads Grab your brains Throw them all into your favorite dream Who can hold this heart together Who can gently say the words The world is a wheel The circle is dead A man is a normal man

On a crazy day With deaf old ears and fear of face like clouds above On a desperate day With sharp unfriendly light That pierce through your wary thoughts Tell me when you go further than the reef, show me where you take off, and whisper when the loop panic strikes A white servant in his studio Well you ran into trouble A white servant in his studio Playing powder games with you So on a day that I call a scream day Monday, hisper heard but not replied No Sandy no Sandy no It’s not right, it’s not right Oh John oh John, we were no catchers in the rye field You told me when you went further than the reef, you showed me where you took off, and you whispered when the loop panic stroke A white servant in a studio Well you fell into trouble A white servant in a studio That’s all we offered you Some of them say he’s coming down for good now, some of them say that might be just as good Some of them say you’re innocent and that Sandy was beautiful A white servant in his studio So you ran into trouble A white servant in his studio Playing powder games with you

They bought a tall Norwegian To save our mid-defence He’s somewhat fast but clumsy He can’t get his tackles right Everything is green out there From the linesman to the pitch Everybody knows what’s wrong Gary’s not around And when they lost that game Six goals to three I knew there will be no balling Until he’s back in the game Everything is green out there From the linesman to the pitch Everybody knows what’s wrong Gary’s not around

These things you got To put away your hands with them Wet shot Right so, better, like someone else A macho kitchen hell Is that a waiter or a toaster? You know how it works And I don’t like it You know how it works And I don’t like it Hands, erection, a black strong friend of yours An invitation won’t last that long ‘round here, no, no A stardom kitchen rage A lot of nice heads shake You know how it works And I don’t like it You know how it works I am the linesman waving Heads and pedals Like someone else’s shed Like your covent goddess And prince of whales I’m in a napalm kitchen rage A lot of night servants You know how it works And I don’t like it You know how it works I am the linesman waving

You are the great painter I am the wild poet We often talk about our future careers Jill is the star photographer Tom is the gifted guitarist They have a common interest in cheap red wine, and then All we can do is to sit back and wait and wish for the moon to break free But there’s always a when and there’s always a but, And whens and buts do take their time, don’t they friends And then there are if onlys and as soon ases, and wait until springs And I have a friend who knows someone, I think maybe he could be … All we can do is to sit back and wait and wish for the moon to break free To break free from all of that And where there’s a will there isn’t always a way And today isn’t always the right day But you are the great painter I am the wild poet We often talk about our future careers To break free from all of this To break free

about

p loofool p is a indie rock band from Oslo, who played together for about a year during 1995/1996. The band was inspired by everything from Lou Reed to Jane's Addiction and released a vinyl single, "Spoilt Conversation", in September 1996. The single went by relatively unnoticed, despite the fact that the cover was made of home-cut brown sky leather. The Czech press plant made a mistake during the cutting of the vinyl , and as a result the b-side "What would Andy say" was deformed by a nasty scratching sound.

The band entered the studio again during the fall of 1996 and recorded the material for a sequel. Then the group suddenly disintegrated in dramatic circumstances. The band was forgotten and displaced both by the bandmembers itself and by the few who might have bought their debut single, except Andy who never forgot the catchy song about him.

The mastertape from that session reappeared early 2019, after 20 years of obscurity in an dusty attic. The band itself was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the material, and decided it was time for others to hear what was boiled together by desperate and occasionally catchy rock in a rehersal space in Skippergata in the mid-90s.

No one knows what the band name "p loofool p" really means, and no one takes the responsibility of having created it, even though some may claime to know its origin.

The band consists of Trygve Eikland, drums - Kristen Sollesnes, bass - Fredrik Ness Sevendal, guitars and Lars Christensen, guitar and vocals.

Norsk presseskriv:
